I am a singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, actor, performer and visual artist. New York based since 1984, I have worked on various projects with Choreographers: Jo Andres, DANCENOISE, and Butoh artist Poppo Sharishi; Theater Directors: Richard Elovich, Ain Gordon, Julia Heyward, John Moran and Bob McGrath of Ridge Theater; and Film Directors: Jo Andres, Michael Stiller and Abigail Simon. Musical pursuits have included the bands Hugo Largo (on Brian Eno‘s Opal/Land Label) and Mimi/Soak and collaborations with composers Moby, A. Leroy, Hahn Rowe, Porl Thompson (of The Cure) and Hector Zazou as well as soundtrack work for the experimental films Anemone Me and Dreaming Out Loud. Soak by the band, Mimi, was my solo musical effort on David Byrne’s Luaka Bop Label, in 1998. This August, Mimi Goese and Ben Neill released music connected with the BAM Next Wave theatrical work, Persephone, under the title “Songs for Persephone” on Ramseur Records. My artwork has been used in many musical presentations including this latest release.
